UNV

The United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV) is the volunteer arm of the United Nations. It was created by the UN General Assembly in 1970 to serve as an operational partner in development cooperation at the request of UN member states.

For tens of millions of people around the world, volunteering is an expression of support for a principle that strikes to the heart of the United Nations system: that by working together, we can make the world a better place for everyone.Volunteering and UN programmes empower individuals, build solidarity, encourage participation and protect the vulnerable against economic, social and political marginalization. Both are meant to build networks of reciprocity, reinforcing society's most basic social safety net -- collective responsibility. You can also read the scope and vision of volunteerism in here.

11:36 AM; It is late now to be a volunteer.
